How We Build
A Clear Process. No Surprises.
We believe you should know exactly what happens at every stage before the first shovel hits the ground. Here's how every Good Life Pools project runs.
Free Consultation & Site Visit
1–2 hoursSergey meets you at your property. He'll walk the yard, assess the soil and drainage, note any HOA setback requirements, and talk through your vision — size, shape, water features, finish materials, and budget. No presentation, no sales pressure. Just an honest conversation about what's possible on your lot.
What You Get
- ✓Preliminary feasibility assessment
- ✓Honest budget range for your specific project
- ✓Timeline estimate based on current permit queue
- ✓Answers to every question you have
Design & Proposal
1–2 weeksOur designer creates a full 3D rendering of your pool based on everything we discussed. You'll see the pool from multiple angles — with your actual yard dimensions, decking, and landscaping as context. We present a fixed-price proposal alongside the design. Nothing moves forward until you've approved both.
What You Get
- ✓Full 3D design rendering
- ✓Material selections (tile, coping, decking, finish)
- ✓Fixed-price itemized proposal
- ✓HOA-ready drawings if applicable
Permits & Engineering
4–8 weeksWe handle all permitting and engineering in-house. This means structural engineering, electrical plans, and all required permit applications submitted to Sarasota County or the City of Venice (depending on your address). Permit timelines vary by season — we give you a realistic window upfront and keep you updated as it moves.
What You Get
- ✓All permit applications filed
- ✓Structural and electrical engineering complete
- ✓Permit approval confirmed before construction starts
- ✓HOA approval coordination (if required)
Construction
6–8 weeksThis is where the work happens. Excavation, steel reinforcement, gunite shell, plumbing rough-in, electrical, tile and coping, interior finish, equipment installation. Our crew handles every phase — we don't subcontract the structural work. Sergey is on-site regularly and available by phone throughout. Required county inspections happen at each milestone.
What You Get
- ✓Excavation and steel layout
- ✓Gunite shell (the permanent structure)
- ✓Plumbing, electrical, and equipment
- ✓Tile, coping, and decking installed
- ✓Interior plaster or pebble finish applied
Final Walkthrough & Startup
1–2 daysWe fill the pool, balance the water chemistry, and walk you through every piece of equipment — pumps, filters, heaters, automation systems, lighting. You leave knowing exactly how to operate and maintain your pool. We handle the final county inspection and close out the permit. Your pool is ready.
What You Get
- ✓Final county inspection passed
- ✓Water chemistry balanced and documented
- ✓Full equipment orientation walkthrough
- ✓Warranty documentation provided
- ✓Direct contact for any post-completion questions
Process Questions
Do I need to be home during construction?
No. We'll need access to your yard and backyard gate, but you don't need to be present. Sergey will send you updates at every milestone and reach you by phone if anything requires a decision.
When do I pay?
Payment is structured in milestones tied to construction phases — typically a deposit at contract signing, then draws at permit approval, excavation, gunite, and final completion. We never ask for a large upfront payment before work begins.
What if I want to make changes after the design is approved?
Minor changes early in the process (before permits are filed) are usually accommodated at no extra cost. Changes after permitting may involve additional engineering or permit amendment fees — we'll tell you exactly what any change costs before proceeding.
What's your warranty?
We provide a structural warranty on the gunite shell and a manufacturer warranty on all equipment (pumps, heaters, automation systems). We also stand behind our workmanship — if something isn't right after completion, we come back and fix it.
